The Centre
Officially opened in 2005 by His Grace, The Duke of Northumberland, this building stood empty for many years. The Trust, in partnership with Alnwick District Council and Northumberland Strategic Partnership was instrumental in raising funds to bring this building back into use.
The Centre is now a hub of activity and many of the community organisations operating in Alnwick have offices here including Lionheart Radio, DISC, Community Action Northumberland and Northumberland Youth Services. The Centre also houses the Registrar of Births, Deaths & Marriages and marriage ceremonies take place in the Northumberland Room on the ground floor. The Trust office is in Room 11 on the 2nd floor. The Centre is also used by external community organisations for meetings, training courses etc. The ground floor Northumberland Room, depending on seating style, can seat up to 30 people and is well equipped. Buffet lunches can be provided by local suppliers using local produce.
The Centre has free parking to the rear of the building, access for the disabled, a lift and meeting room facilities (see Room and Equipment Hire page). For information on renting office space in the building please contact the Trust Manager Geoff Watson email here
