Alnwick Markets
The Trust is in partnership with Local Living (North East) Limited, who have the licence to run Alnwick Markets.
The Trust assists in the promotion and development of the Market Place and has worked closely with Local Living on a number of initiatives in order to support the regeneration of the town centre. Continental and French markets are now a regular and popular feature in Alnwick and plans are under way to develop a Christmas market.
An annual entertainments licence has also been secured for the Market Place which enables a wide variety of entertainment to be provided.
The partnership raised substantial funding from Alnwick District Council and Alnwick Market Towns Initiative for the purpose of mobile electricity stanchions for the Market Place. This enables traders to have access to power fridges etc., without the need for generators. Funding was also secured with the help of Northumberland Strategic Partnership to replace the old market stalls with new easy erect stalls which improve the look of the Market Place and enhance the visitor experience.
